(November 17, 2007-Weirs Beach, NH) What
are you doing with your family on Thanksgiving weekend?
If you grow tired of eating, shopping or watching football,
visit the Lake Winnipesaukee Museum on Route 3, Weirs
Beach. Join the scavenger hunt over Thanksgiving Weekend
and enter to win great prizes, for a new twist on the
museum tour.
It’s simple. Pick up the form with the questions
on it as you enter the museum. View the exhibits to discover
the answers, write them down on the form, and then drop
the form into the basket. You’ll be entered to
win a Museum Store Gift Bag valued at $100.
The gift bag will be filled with goodies available
for sale at the Museum Store, including Hal Lyons “A
Love Affair with Angling” DVD, a book on lake history,
a reproduction framed print from the LWHS massive postcard
collection, and an historic lake map suitable for framing.
Items great for re-gifting, if you want to shorten your
shopping list for the holidays!
This is a fun activity for the whole family, young,
old or in between, and will get the group out of the
house over the long holiday weekend. The scavenger hunt
can take 20 minutes or 2 hours, depending on how long
you’d like to stay, as you can do it at your own
pace.
The year round Lake Winnipesaukee Museum will be open
on Friday, November 23rd and Saturday, November 24th
from 10am - 2pm. (Closed Thanksgiving Day.) Admission
is free. It is owned and operated by the Lake Winnipesaukee
Historical Society, a nonprofit organization established
to preserve and promote the history and heritage of Lake
Winnipesaukee. Regular hours are Tuesday through Saturday
from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
