CRUISE NIGHTS COMING THIS SUMMER TO THE LAKE WINNIPESAUKEE MUSEUM

(May 30, 2008 – Weirs Beach, NH) Cruise Nights are coming to the Lake Winnipesaukee Museum’s historic 4 acre property in the Weirs this summer every Monday from 6 to 8pm. A special kick-off event to the season on Monday, June 9th will be co-hosted by Frank FM Radio.

Join the fun on Monday evenings and enjoy special activities, including driver door prizes, games, music, giveaways from area restaurants and businesses, and a 50/50 raffle to benefit the Lake Winnipesaukee Historical Society.

Whether you are driving an antique or classic car alone or as one of the many car clubs in the region, or you’re just a “cool car wanna be” who likes to look at them, everyone is invited. If you are interested in helping out at the LWHS Cruise Nights, please speak to one of the volunteers at the kick-off event.

LWHS Cruise Nights will continue after Motorcycle Week on Monday, July 23rd and go through Monday, August 11th.

The Lake Winnipesaukee Museum is conveniently located directly on Route 3 in the Weirs section of Laconia, between Meredith and Weirs Beach, next door to Funspot (503 Endicott Street North).  The upper parking lot behind the Museum where the Cruise Nights will take place is level and paved, surrounded by trees and with nice views to the hills around the property to make for pleasant surroundings. Funspot is right next door for food and drink, other restaurants are within walking distance, and Weirs Beach is nearby for other activities before or after the Cruise Night events.

Owned and operated by the Lake Winnipesaukee Historical Society, the Lake Winnipesaukee Museum is open all year Tuesday through Saturday, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, or by appointment. Admission is free; donations gratefully accepted. The Museum hosts a variety of events and offers educational programs on lake history, a Museum Store and a research library.

The Lake Winnipesaukee Historical Society is a nonprofit organization established to preserve and promote the history and heritage of Lake Winnipesaukee and vicinity. LWHS is actively seeking new members with special incentive gifts, along with regular membership benefits. A $10 annual membership now through October 31, 2008, can help LWHS win $25,000 in a special challenge provided by the Finlay Foundation.

For further information on events, to sign up for membership, or to learn about volunteer activities, please contact info@lwhs.us, or call 603.366.5776.
