LAKE WINNIPESAUKEE HISTORICAL SOCIETY
NAMES NEW DIRECTOR

(March 4, 2005. Weirs, NH) – The Lake Winnipesaukee Historical Society in Weirs, NH, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ann W. Sprague of Meredith as its new Executive Director. Sprague will be responsible for developing programs and services, as well as promotion and expansion of the museum.

Sprague, a Meredith native and UNH graduate, has worked in marketing and management in the retail, tourism and hospitality industries, and has received national certification as a marketing director. She has served on the NH State Advisory Council for Travel & Tourism and the board of directors for the Retail Merchants Association of NH, Lakes Region Association and, most recently, the Greater Meredith Program. She has been a guest lecturer, published in national trade magazines, and given presentations on marketing, retail and tourism.

The Lake Winnipesaukee Historical Society was established in 1985 to promote and preserve the history and legacy of Lake Winnipesaukee and its surrounding communities. The museum, located on Route 3 just north of Weirs Beach, is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and admission is free.
