Lake Winnipesaukee, with its 274 islands and its 283 miles of shoreline, and with its Belknap Mountains on the West, it's Ossipee Mountains, on the East and its White Mountains off to the North, is; one of the most picturesque lakes in America. It has been plumbed to a depth of 360 feet, just 'southeast of Rattlesnake Island, which may account for the excellent fishing almost everywhere on the lake. Around the lake shore lie the towns listed above, all of them famous summer resorts 'and now rapidly becoming winter sports areas as well. The sixty-mile road around the lake takes you through all these towns. You should take the trip. And if you want to get a full idea of the beauty and expansiveness of Winnipesaukee, take the trip around the lake on the MS. Mount Washington II. She is 205 feet long and can carry 1,500 people.
